Number of Tv Channels rises by 37 in 1 year


This year saw a leap in the number of private Tv channels with their number rising from 784 in December to 821 by the beginning of this month.On November 30, there are 404 permitted news and current affairs  channels in the country and 417 non-news and current affairs channels. the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has allowed 821 TV channels in both categories to function in the country. In last year December2 ,2013 the number of permitted private satellite TV channels in India was 784r of which there were 389 news and current affairs channels and 395 non new channels . earlier there were issues related to the process of security clearance of companies that wanted to start channels ..these process has been streamlined,the number of channels has been steadily going up. According to the recent data the number of news channels had reached 400 by September 15 & the number of non news channels had touched 413 by this time .

Over 3 crore Court Cases Pending


The Chief Justice of India expressed his concern over backlog of more than 3 crore cases in courts across the country.The maximum dependency of civil and criminal cases together was in Allahabad High Court with 10,43,398 cases & the minimum pendency was in Sikkim with 120 cases pending at the end of 2013. The CJI came out with an innovative idea of expeditious disposal of case by setting up a special"social justice bench"to deal with pendency of case having social issues which are on rise and needs specialized approach, he also emphasized on disposal of petty,compoundable (cases which can be compromised ) criminal matters and other civil disputes through LokS Adalats as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism where decisions are arrived at amicably and can't be appealed against.

Uber Cab Driver Accused of Delhi Rape, Arrested in Mathura


The Uber driver who allegedly raped a 25 years old financial analyst in Capital Friday night  was arrested from hometown Sunday.The Us online taxi-booking services faced several questions over lack of security check .the sources tells that The San Francisco based firm failed to run a background check on Yadav.Moreover the car owner and the  vehicle was without  a satellite tracking device,moreover the address the taxi driver gave to Uber was fake.According to the sources regulations will be made for banning the App based Taxi booking.Furthermore a strict background check will be done on taxi drivers .

Pilots Leave Spicejet


The SpiceJet airline currently has around 525 pilots,around 125 pilots have quit the airline and are serving the six months notice period.54 have already applied in Jet airways and Indigo,98 captains and other first officers have also quit their job in SpiceJet.According to the sources "these pilots will start leaving the airlines from December as and when  their notice period gets over". In an interview with a concerned person in SpiceJet ,he said " even after pilots on notice part ways with SpiceJet in coming months ,we will have more than enough pilots to fly our feet "The Director General of Civil aviation on Friday said that they have withdrew 186 of its slots and asked it to clear salary dues of employees by December 15",he showed his concern about deteriorating condition of SpiceJet and flight cancellation .he further added that regulator would carry 'heightened' surveillance of SpijceJet flight on landing to ensure safety of it's passengers.

Gas Leaks Kills 2 in Durgapur.


Two contractual laborers of Durgapur steel plant dies on 7 th December at evening after inhaling toxic  gases while repairing  a leak pipeline in blast furnace & six other laborers were taken ill and are in critical condition .According to the sources none of the laborers had safety mask on . According to the officials the gas that leaked was blast furnace gas,made up of nitrogen ,carbon monoxide , oxygen.The high presence of carbon-monoxide makes the blast furnace gas poisonous even if inhaled din moderate quantity.members of trinamul's trade union wing INTTUC,protested outside the hospital gate accusing the steel plant authorities for negligence.DSP Officials said " The families of the deceased and those recuperating in the hospital will receive compensation  according to the company norms ".

World's Fattest man No-more


A 44.5kg British man Keith Martin ,the worlds fattest man dies on dec 7 in London from pneumonia followed by lengthy battle with his weight. Just eight months after martin underwent a successful gastric sleeve surgery which removed three quarters of his stomach, Martin faced death. According to the surgeon 'Kesava Mannur' who operated Martin last year said " If he had lived ,he would have lost hundreds of pounds and regained his ability to walk and live normal life ".
